About That Award Show Thing...

So while Russ and I diligently balloted and balloted for every show, the Oscars fell on a bad night. It was the night before a big week in law school. I recorded the show and watched it post-suergery.

The one neat thing about the Oscars is that they have a cool app to cast your own ballot. Here are our results:

So in the end, I won! Well, technically Nick won, but hey... he's not been playing all along.

So my question is, what should I win?

 A massage? 

A month of no laundry or housework?

A trip to the coast?

A week off of law school?

What should it be?

Oh and PS: Want to know what one I guess and Russ missed? 

Best Directing. Russ said "True Grit" and I said "The King's Speech".

I totally won the SAGs. That's 2 for me and 1 for Russ. Now that I'm winning... what should be my prize if I really do win in the end? Any suggestions?

Sweet Wal-Mart Adventure

Russ and I went to Wal-Mart last night to make some last-minute cookies for Relief Society. As we hustled into the store, two elderly women stopped us and asked us for a favor:
"Will you two take these back to the store for us?" They asked us this while pointing to one of these:

What would you say? I can tell you our response: "YES"

And so began the race between Russ and I in the motorized shopping carts.

Russ won, but only because those things are hard to maneuver around people. And columns. And Russ had a head start because I was taking this picture.

Some good news

A few days ago I promised explanation of my win and a picture. Well, here it is: Craig Stango and I won BLS's Client Counseling Competition. Basically you meet with fake clients and you are judged on how well you consult with them.

Craig and I tok 1st place! We were quite proud! Here we are on the web site!

It's a small picture. But nonetheless I'm proud! Here's the full story:

Sometimes you win...

After being in law school for a year and a half.... after months of being unsure if I belong here or not.... after moments of unsurety and just pushing through because I knew this is what I wanted... after a dozen or so crying phone calls to my husband....

I feel like I can say that I belong here.

And it feels good.

Just Another Manic Monday

• 5:00 AM: Wake up
• 5:20        : Drive to Waco
• 7:20        : Arrive in Waco, unpack, head to the school
• 8:00        : Meet with my client counseling partner, Craig Stango
• 9:00        : Go to class
• 10:00      : Still in Class
• 11:00      : Still in Class
• 12:00 PM: Still in Class
• 1:15        : Go home and shower, eat lunch
• 2:00        : Meet with Craig to practice
• 3:00        : Practice with Craig for the Semi-Finals
• 4:40        : Client Counseling Semi-Final Round
• 5:30        : Leave Law School, go to the Gym
• 6:30        : Run on the treadmill while watching "4 Christmases"
• 7:00        : Craig sends me a text. We made it to the FINALS!
• 7:05        : Run faster to finish my 5k so we can go get ready
• 8:00        : Stop off at home to change and go back to school
• 8:30        : Blog, order a pizza, and start studying for the Final Round

... and I think we'll finish here around 11. Yay! I would call this a very good (but manic) Monday.
