Flight of the Phoenix
Before Phoenix was a twinkle in our eye, we had a few trips planned.
And actually, after she was a 5 pound weight in my midsection- we had to plan another trip for Russ' brother's wedding. So like it or not, Phoenix was going airborne earlier that later.

| Up close and personal- not too much room to wiggle. |

Some of the trips required our presence at certain events-
like a social for law students in a bowling alley.
Phoenix was a good sport about it and didn't mind eating dinner in a place with
loud music and stinky shoes. She's great like that!

So there is a bit of our travel adventures. The worst part of the travels came on the return from the wedding. But that is a story requiring it's entirely own blogpost....
Here's where Phoenix has been so far:
- Denver, Colorado
- San Francisco, California
- Salt Lake City, Utah
- Phoenix, Arizona

Photo Shoot- July 27, 2011
This last week I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot for my dear, dear, dear friend Heidi. She is due in about 2 weeks, pregnant with a boy.
Heidi is one of those poster-women of pregnancy. She makes pregnancy look appealing. I remember on my mission, in Hawaii, meeting a mom-to-be that was a walking Malibu Barbie. I guess she was more of a Hawaii Barbie.
Point is, she was gorgeous. And when she got pregnant, it was like any fat that existed in her body just went to her belly and made her look even more fantastic.
Heidi reminds me of this lady. I'm still editing the photos, but here are a few proofs that I have done for her. And they're so gorgeous, I had to share!

How This is Gonna Go Down
So a few weeks ago we broke the news on here about Spud. And while this change turns many blogs into diaries of puking, mood swings, and baby prep talk, that won't happen here. That's fine- I'm not dissing on blog styles that roll that way. Russ and I just do things a bit differently.
So while I will occasionally talk about it, I'll still talk about the other stuff that is going on in our life. Like the trip to Utah I have coming up and this professional conference I'm going to attend. And the other fun summer stuff Russ and I will do since I'm not in school for the next month and a half.
This post, is one of those little updates. Because my sister-in-law, who has had 5 kids, said she regretted never taking these kinds of pics. And because I value her advice (and could care less for the advice of people who are not my close friends or family members) here's the first pic. Russ and I are going to take one every 5 weeks, and post it on here.
As you can see it looks like I just ate too much. And that I have bad posture. I honestly forget about Spud about 90 % of the time because I just can't see anything besides a little chub. And I'm not sick. So perhaps in 5 more weeks this will be something more to ooh and aahh at, instead of looking like the before picture in a Weight Watchers ad.
And PS: We're not finding out if it's a boy or a girl. So please, don't hold your breath for an announcement of a Wilde Baby boy or a Wilde Baby girl. : D
Until tomorrow! Happy Sunday!

The Problem with taking Photos...
You're never actually in the photo.
Sigh.
This is our gang of friends on the 4th. We had SUCH a good time! Who needs fireworks!!!
I just wish I was in the picture...

Pre-Thanksgiving Events
I forgot to post about our pre-Thanksgiving events:
Shopping for herbs at Whole Foods:
Russ's work Christmas party. Yes, his work had their Christmas party BEFORE Thanksgiving! But it was fun. And it's one less thing to do in the busy Holiday season. And it was at Dave & Busters so it was a lot of fun, as you can see:

Unfortunately I only have pictures that I took of Russ, but I did have fun too!
Russ won 500 tickets on 'Deal or No Deal'. He risked it all and won it all.
We ended up with about 2,000 tickets and game them to a little girl so she could get a Dora Lamp.
We also spent a lot of time getting the house ready for all the visitors. This picture of Russ watering the trees was one of those rare cleaning moments where I was happy cleaning. Isn't he cute?
We also found last year's wishbone while we were cleaning. I'm a little embarrassed that it took us a year to find it. Even more so that we haven't done anything with it still. It is still on my counter.
Lastly, this is a picture of a foggy morning in my backyard. We often get low clouds at our house in the morning. I love it. It makes me want to go looking for Mr. Darcy on the misty moors.
And this is what led up to a spectacular thanksgiving! I think the best I've ever had.

Running...
Here's some pictures from the 10K I did a few weeks ago. This is the longest race I've run. Russ was kind enough to get up early and come take photos of the race.

Hay Bale Goal: Check
When we moved to Texas 3.5 years ago, I had this strange desire to get my picture taken on top of a hay bale. I haven't really had a chance to fulfill this goal... until last Friday. Russ and I spent the day in Fredricksburg and when we passed a bale of hay, I demanded we stop and get out so we could get a picture.
