When we got married we took great care to avoid sweeps, as in television news sweeps. We avoided February for this reason. We thought march wold be perfect. That March 16 was perfect, because it is the day before Russ's favorite holiday.
Then we moved to Texas.
And there was a little festival called SXSW.
And our anniversary is spent with Russ covering the festival or resting up from a crazy work week.
Sad to say, our anniversary's have become simple in celebration. And this year, being a not so great celebration year of #6, we shall again keep it simple.
A post-wedding trip to the Salt Lick, and then maybe working on my kitchen light remodel some more.
I don't mind- this year.
And as much as I'd like to think it'll get better in the future, I try not to plan. Because you make plans, and then life happens.

March 2nd is Going to be a Great Day!
This is my awesome mother-in-law and her 3 magnificent sons! She single handedly raised these amazing guys (they unintentionally all wore black in this picture. Natural Johnny Cash's).
I LOVE all three of them. Obviously I love Russ. But from the moment I met my in-laws, I loved them. And I thought they were awesome. Which was weird, because I thought in-laws were these awful monsters that ruined your life.
Well, I am THANKFUL that my in-laws are so cool. Their joys are my joys. Their sorrows are my sorrows. And there is much joy coming this Spring for Brother #2!
Yup, Randy is off the market. All you single ladies out there, you missed out on being part of the coolest family. Go somewhere else to find a Phase-10 master, Mandarin-speaking, computer genius.
And Linda, congrats!
Welcome to the family.
You were cool before (she's a pastry chef) but you are so much cooler now with this AMAZING family!

My Visiting Teacher Got Married
So what do you do, as a visiting teachee, when your angel is suddenly swept off her feet?
You Celebrate with Her.
![]() |
You throw her a Bridal Shower- well co-throw along with Michelle (the awesome best friend, room mate, and my dear friend!)
You make up a crazy theme: Movies. Every gift must have a movie reference. Example: Pillows- While You Were Sleeping
Then, along with the Relief Society, you make her a quilt.
And finally, you show up to celebrate her big day! YAY!
Sure will miss her, but I know we'll always stay close!

Remember when...
I was organizing some photos on my computer today and realized I never blogged about a wonderful event Russ and I were able to attend in June.

Anyway, the wedding was AMAZING! The church was breathtaking. The words spoken were heart warming. The couple was so BEAUTIFUL. I didn't get any pictures inside the church, but here's the outside:
So my friend Kyle, my moot court partner from law school...

got married to the coolest person. Her name is Brooke, but I don't have a picture of her.
This is the law school gang that showed up. Yeah, I can't pose.

And the best part was... dancing with this really cute guy that was there.

Congrats Kyle and Brooke!

Happy Wedding!
It's been 3 years since Russ and I got married. We are apart this year, which seems to happen every odd year (well, the two we've had now).
Here are some facts about our wedding you may/may not know or may/may not care about:
- We were married in Canada, where his mom and dad were married, and his grandparents were sealed.
- We were the only wedding that day at that temple. We were fawned over by all.
- We showed up about 20 minutes early. The temple workers said, "you're early! Couples are never early to their wedding!" Well... we were excited.
- We got married at 5:23 pm (Russ's mom was watching the time, totally tracking it down to the minute that her baby boy got married).
- After we got married, we hugged family and friends and went on our honeymoon. Everyone else went for Chinese.
- We partied beforehand with the family. We had lunch in a carriage museum.
- We love to roadtrip! So we started our honeymoon in Glacier National Park. Then we went to Helena (MT), Salt Lake (UT), Manti (UT), Austin (TX), Las Vegas (NV) and finally to St. George.
- We exchanged wedding rings on March 17, @ a lake in Glacier Park. I don't remember what we said, but it was romantic because we both cried.
